Confucius – ‘The man who asks a question is a fool for a minute, the man who does not ask is a fool for life’.
‘
A warm welcome to all inquisitive souls from William and my wife Beata (Betty).
This site is titled Let’s think for Ourselves and we really do hope you find something helpful here. The motivation for this site began when I, William, realised I wouldn’t be loving others if I didn’t share some of the things that you can read about here. I began to realise that what lies behind so many of those questions we ask, the uncertainties or maybe insecurities in our lives, or the problems we find ourselves in both individually and as a nation, can largely be attributed to the way we are all losing the ability to ‘think’ for ourselves and, rather alarmingly, seem ever more happy to be told how to think or what to think, and that’s usually something negative isn’t it, have you noticed? Does reading the daily ‘news’ for example ever leave you excited about your future? Well, it’s my aim for you to leave here with a smile and a real passion for living.
‘Is this message for me’ I hear you ask? Well, please watch the first 8 seconds of this video (blink and you’ll miss it!) and then decide yourself. It’s a really powerful visual reminder of things that could or indeed do happen when we stop thinking for ourselves, like these guys did in the video, and delegate that responsibility to someone, or in this case, something else.
These guys in the video were lucky, and so was I in my youth when I unquestionably but somewhat naively trusted others to make decisions for me, but many weren’t, or won’t be so lucky in life. This aim of this site is to introduce the reader to, and hopefully help that person become aware of some of the massive deception that encompasses the lives of all of us, yes, your life too, now critical thinking has become so neglected on a national level.
Why am I doing this? Well, it’s because no one told me most of this stuff on this site when I was younger, and I don’t want to be found guilty of staying silent myself. Here I’m simply trying to share some of the generally more hidden things I’ve gleaned that may be helpful to others as we travel on what people call ‘that journey called life’, because by taking notice of what I’ve called throughout this site the correct ‘travel information signs’ and being made aware of the many ‘signposts to deception’ then other travellers can hopefully avoid more of the many pitfalls that are set before us in life (including many that I fell down) – a bit like dodging the snakes on the Snakes and Ladders board – because life does have a truly meaningful and satisfying purpose, for all of us, whether you’re currently struggling making ends meet on the one hand or drowning in the excess of meaningless materialism on the other….
Who am I to do this? Good point. I don’t have any qualifications but I will share one thing that I have observed from the 55 years of my journey – I feel very fortunate to most days meet such lovely and clever educated guys like doctors, engineers, researchers, business people, civil servants etc who see and know their specific individual pieces of life’s jigsaw puzzle in such amazing detail, indeed, so much of what I’ve learned in life has been from chatting to my customers. However, I’ve noticed that so few appear to be able to jump into the helicopter to view the bigger picture on the box lid as well as perceiving where their piece really belongs. As individuals, I generally see each of us living ever more compartmentalised lives, or what psychologists call living in reality tunnels, and it is my hope that you read on and maybe gradually discover a clearer picture of the box lid, plus, the all important bigger picture context of where all our individual jigsaw pieces really belong in life. No matter how clever, successful or famous we become, or whether we feel left out altogether in life, the real importance of our individual jigsaw piece is only truly realised once we see this bigger picture. To some, that can be quite humbling but for others it can be very uplifting and reassuring – and please keep in mind no jigsaw is complete without every piece.
None of the following pages here are two minute reads and I know everyone’s busy nowadays but even if you leave this site now without reading my take, whether you’re young or old, rich or poor, abused or abuser etc etc, can I just encourage you to THINK as you go about daily life. It is easy to control people if they don’t understand their own meaning and importance but there are more answers than most people realise once we start to think for ourselves and allow our school, religious and media indoctrination, plus our preconceived ideas to all be challenged. And if you have kids, please start them young – if we teach our kids at two years old that they can’t rely on the little green man, then unlike my youthhood, they might grow up realising that they can’t always trust the school teacher, the doctor, the priest or indeed the now heavily censored internet to teach them the truth, and they might actually grow up to be the creative unique individual that they are supposed to be, to love and to be loved, rather than become little more than a mindless machine built to serve a system, which then ruthlessly discards it when it becomes no longer useful.
If any of that rings a bell with you then please do read on, click the Home link below to return to main menu.
